Seijaku Bench ・静寂　ベンチ

Seijaku (静寂) is a Japanese concept that translates to tranquillity, serenity, or "energised calm". Rather than meaning an empty silence or the absence of noise, it represents an active stillness—a state of profound inner peace and mindful awareness maintained even in the midst of everyday chaos.

Inspired by the way stones would settle into the sand bank by the ocean. The natural impression on the sand is created by its assured stillness as chaotic waves wash over it. This active stillness in nature is what captured me. It is how stillness in the face of chaos tangibly affects your surroundings. My aim- to bring this active stillness into the home.
